Siavash Bahami - Project Coordinator, Amico Affiliates

After arriving in Canada with a degree in civil engineer from Cyprus, and nearly a decade of industry experience in oil and gas, highways, bridges, roads and rail, Siavash Bahami enrolled in Fanshaw College’s Construction Project Management program and graduated in 2019. Shortly thereafter, through his connection with NextGen Professional, Siavash was placed with Amico Affiliates as a Project Coordinator in Windsor, Ontario. Siavash’s education and experience have provided him with a keen attention to detail, strong critical thinking and planning skills, and the ability to coordinate activities across multiple trades. His belief in the value of coaching and mentorship will surely play a prominent role in his future success, and that of Amico. Siavash’s current work activities included (but are not limited to):

• Review and update construction schedules and look-ahead schedules.

• Update and notify site supers & project managers of any risks or impending issues.

• Quantity takeoff, acquire quotations, and estimate the value of change orders & change requests; as well as, the potential impact on the construction schedule.

• Review construction documents to ensure completeness and identify potential red flags

• Chair meetings with trades, get updates on project progression, ensure trades agree and understand project requirements, perform site investigations and check for deficiencies.

• Monitor workmanship and performance and intervene where required.
