Overcoming your To-Do List
Have you ever heard of the Eisenhower Matrix? I'm sure I have posted similar charts to help you mentally map out your tasks. See the image attached and draw out the Matrix. Then visually identify what quadrant tasks fall into. This can become the framework for your work week.
Urgent And Important
Stop what you are doing immediately to attend to this task. Putting out fires usually.
Important, But Not Urgent, Tasks
It's not vital to complete these tasks today. But taking one or two of these items off your list helps with long term goal achievement.
Urgent, But Not Important, Tasks
You must take action within a specified time frame. But it is not today or tomorrow. These tasks usually do not get you closer to long term goals, delegate these out if you are able.
Not Urgent, Not Important
Usually well intentioned tasks but if you don't have the time or the resources maybe reconsider striking these off your to do list or delegating.
Your goal is to spend most of your time in quadrant two. Important but not Urgent to support long term goals! Is this helpful? Did you try it?
